SUMMARY:PAACI Fall Parkinson's Symposium & Caregiver Conference
DESCRIPTION:Join us for our Fall Parkinson’s Symposium & Caregiver Conference \nThe first part of the event will be the Symposium\, while the second half will be the Caregiver Conference. Please feel free to come to either part of the event or the entire event. This event is free\, just purchase your own food and drink. We will have our amazing sponsors and silent auctions available for you to look at and bid on. (We take cash\, checks\, and credit cards.) This year’s silent auction includes some wonderful items including Christmas items and gift cards. So\, please come\, enjoy the speakers\, and check out the silent auctions and the sponsor tables. There will also be time after each speaker to ask questions and we hope to have an amazing exercise break. And\, if you’re one of the few people who’ve never eaten at MCL\, you should join us for lunch; their food is great and the desserts are amazing. \nAbout Our Speakers:\nOur first speaker will be Dr. Georgia Malandraki\, Professor at the Purdue Department of Speech\, Language and Hearing Sciences with a courtesy appointment in the Wheldon School of Biomedical Medicine Engineering and Research Director of the I-EAT Swallowing Research Laboratory and Clinic. Dr. Malandraki will talk to us about Swallowing Functions in PD: The latest updates on how to maintain eating safely and with pleasure. \nOur second speaker will be Rhonda Ryan\, Director of Memory Care at Hoosier Village and a Qualified Dementia Care Professional through the Leading Age Insititute for Excellence in Memory Care.
